“Innovation is seeing what everyone has seen, and thinking what no one has thought.”
In a world where many see problems but few take action, the GYST girls dared to dream differently. From building AI-driven solutions, to designing smart environmental friendly equipments, young female students have shown that innovation isn’t limited by age or background—it thrives when passion meets purpose.

Now a new chapter of GYST has begun. And it promises to deepen impact, expand reach, and inspire even more young girls across Nigeria.
The Launch
On Monday, May 19, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) launched Delt-Her 2.0, an initiative designed to nurture and empower extraordinary female engineers in Nigeria. GYST falls under this initiative, with a focus on budding female engineers and scientists in secondary schools across Nigeria.

The Delt-HER 2.0 launch took place at the NASENI headquarters, Idu. Among those present were Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman, NASENI; Mariam Ismaila, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs; Lanyi Mandate, Secretary Women Affairs, FCTA, and other notable dignitaries. GYST 1.0 participating schools and science coordinators were also duly present. Speaking on the impact of GYST 1.0, our Executive Director, Jeremiah Oseni, noted that putting technology in the hands of young girls is the right form of empowerment in today’s tech-driven world.

Following the launch of the Delt-HER programme championed by NASENI, Dbegotin Educational Foundation organised a Press Brief for GYST 2.0, held on Friday 23rd May at Ventures Park, Maitama. The programme provided insights into the impact of GYST 1.0, and the roadmap for GYST 2.0.

What’s New in GYST 2.0?
Building on the success of the first phase, GYST 2.0 introduces new layers of mentorship, projects, and innovative solutions. The project continues to nurture the dreams of young female students who aspire to build careers in STEM. Thanks to the continued support from NASENI and the dedication of the team at Dbegotin Educational Foundation, GYST 2.0 is creating an ecosystem where girls can thrive as inventors, and future leaders.
“Technology makes life easier for everyone. I want to be one of those building those systems that transform our quality of life.” Immaculata, GYST 1.0 participant.
GYST is a movement. A movement where girls are encouraged to be curious, bold, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. From the competition phase of the project to the mentorship, GYST is teaching these girls how to turn ideas into action, and action into impact.
As GYST 2.0 unfolds, we look forward to witnessing even more innovations from brilliant young minds.
To every girl who has been part of this journey: you are the innovators, the trailblazers, the change agents. And to every girl watching: your ideas matter. Your curiosity matters. The world needs your brilliance.
